I decided to mount this behind my power rack... The way I have it set up, it is now a fully configurable functional trainer, with a center mount, 1-to-1 lat pulldown.
It's a little complicated to describe (the attached photo might help) but basically I extended the bottom anchor points with a couple cables and pulleys. Those typically mount directly above my seating position, so I can combine them with a lat pulldown bar and get a 1-to-1 pulldown.
But those overhead mounting points use adjustable shackles, so I can just as easily mount them on my uprights to get a mid height mount. Or, I can throw on my safety arms sideways and mount to them to get a very wide mount for flys.
It's incredibly versatile, and the excellent quality of the base trainer makes it all so smooth.
I set it up this way primarily because I assembled my gym piecemeal... if I were to try for something like this out of the gate, I'd probably go for one of the prepared solutions. But honestly, I don't feel like I'm missing out with the way I have it, and it really is a bit more versatile (at the expense of longer setup time)
I bought a couple 3rd party pulleys with a couple shackles and some extra cable, and I turned
